After you get into an accident, having a copy of your police report can be critical evidence for filing insurance claims.
If you got into an Escondido traffic accident and the Escondido Police Department filled out a collision report, then you can request a copy of your police report in person, by mail or online.

You can request your police report in person by visiting the business office, located at:

The business office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
Make sure you bring:
- a completed copy of the Application for Release of Traffic/Crime Report Information form (ESPD 122),
- a valid form of identification such as your driver’s license or passport, and
- the $15 fee, payable by cash or check.
It will take the Escondido Police Department 4-10 days to process your request.

To request a copy of your police report by mail, fill out the Application for Release of Traffic/Crime Report Information form (ESPD 122), and mail it to:

After mailing in your form, a police department representative will contact you to tell you to come to the office to provide identification and pay the $15 fee by cash or check.
